Rudolph Valentino was born as Rodolfo Alfonso Raffaello Piero Filiberto Guglielmi in Castellaneta, Italy on May 6, 1895. He emigrated to the United States in late 1913, supporting himself with odd jobs until finding work as a dancer. Eventually, he wound up in Hollywood and started appearing in small parts ultimately leading to a role in "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". It was released in 1921, and immediately launched Rudolph Valentino to stardom. He was married twice, to Jean Acker and then Natacha Rambova. Rudolph Valentino passed away on August 23, 1926 from peritonitis. It was estimated that 100,000 people publicly mourned at his funeral in New York. He was only 31 years old.
