General George S. Patton Urinating At the Rhine River Set Of Two Unique Photos - B-G21-A651
Absolutely Stunning Archival Quality From A Professional Lab!
Quality Assured! This is for 2 photos and a history lesson. Here we have 2 prints of possibly one of the most famous photos from WW II. This is General George S. Patton at the Rhine River in Germany. Copies of this photo have been floating around veterans organizations and military bases for 70 years, and it was finally published around 1980. You are getting both, unavailable anywhere else! Please note the differences: The first photo is the one which has been passed around the military for ages. You'll note the "stream" from Patton. We've never determined if it was legit, or possibly some trick photography by someone. You'll notice it's badly faded, which is caused by the creation of copy negatives. We estimate our original to be from at least a 4th or 5th generation negative. This is the prized photo shared by military personnel since WWII. The second photo is from the actual original. Notice the clarity compared to the first. You'll also notice there's no "stream". The second photo was first published in the early 1980's in a history on Patton. The officer in the forefront is Lt. Col. Charles Codman. Codman was a former World War I aviator with the 96th Aero Squadron. He was Patton's aide-de-camp. Both photos are historically significant in their own right, and you are getting an 8" x 10" of each.
