Raimu was the stage name for the French actor, Jules Auguste Muraire. He was born on December 17, 1883 in France, and first started appearing on the stage at the age of 16. As his stage fame, and success, grew, he performed as an actor in his first movie in 1912.

A versatile stage and movie actor, Jules Raimu was considered one of the finest performers of his era. He passed away on Septeber 20, 1946 from complications during surgery after a heart attack.
