Here we have a vintage publicity photo of movie actor, James Hall. These photos were usually handed out to movie patrons as they entered the theatres. They were also mailed upon request. This is in fair condition, having been removed from a scrap book. There are some obvious staple holes as shown. Approximate size is 5" x 7". Please review both scans carefully to note the damage.
The actor, James Hall, was born on October 22, 1900 in Dallas, Texas, as James E. Brown. He joined a theatrical company as a young teenager and with the exception of a brief stint in the army during World War I, performed on stage into the 1920's.
He first appeared on film in the 1923 movie, "Man Alone", after having been signed by Paramount. His best remembered role would be the 1930 "Hells Angels" with Jean Harlow.
James Hall passed away on June 7, 1940 from cirrhosis. He was 39 years old. He had appeared in just over 30 movies of which a small sampling would include:
