The actor, Lewis Stone, was born as Lewis Shepard Stone on November 15, 1879, in Worcester, Massachusetts. A veteran of both the Spanish American War, and World War I, he had started working as an actor in 1914 with a short time out for the war. His hair was prematurely grey, landing him roles as distinquished, polite, men. But it was as "Judge Hardy" in the Andy Hardy series of movies which would become Lewis Stones best remembered legacy.
Lewis Stone was married three times, to: Elizabeth Wolf, Margaret Langham and, the forgotten actress, Florence Oakley. Lewis Stone passed away from a heart attack on September 12, 1953, alledgedly after chasing some rowdy teens off his property. He was 73 years old.
