Here we have an old, real photo postcard of movie Actor, Ben Lyon. This card is in mediocre condition. This card has some album remnants on the rear where it was glued to an album page. There are also staple holes at the top as the scans should indicate. Be sure to check both images to see the damage on the rear. Approximate size is 3-1/2" x 5-1/4".
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 6, 1901, actor Ben Lyon attracted the attention of Hollywood after a successful stage performance opposite of Actress, Jeanne Eagels. Best remembered for his performance as a young aviator in the 1930 film, "Hells Angels", his popularity began to fade in the 1940's and Ben Lyon moved into an executive role at 20th Century Fox.
Ben Lyon was largely responsible for the first screen test, and contract, for Actress Marilyn Monroe in 1946.
Ben Lyon was married to Actress Bebe Daniels until her death in 1971, after which he married Actress Marian Nixon.
Ben Lyon passed away on March 22, 1979 from a heart attack.
